Store mannequins in Sweden

I came across this picture on Pinterest:

and
link

Those mannequins look like real women! Do you find it to be a positive step forward in regards to women's self image or is it just a marketing strategy?

I tried to find the source but wasn't successful. While doing that I also found this article about advertising with computer generated bodies.  link

I understand the need for marketing, but why selling your product with a false truth? Like the commercials for mascara that actually display false eyelashes. It is probably way cheaper than paying models.

Anyone cares to share a thought?

Happy new year!

Hello everyone and happy  2013!!!

I miss you and this little space sooo much!

See you soon, even though there is no sewing going on and I'm going crazy!!!!!

Let's begin the year with a new installment of Clothes in art then. :-)

Question!

I have cleaned up the sewing corner, and put aside a number of sewing magazines to give away. But there are quite a number of them, so this thought came to me...Would you barter with me?

Say, I'd love to have these books:
Fit for real people by Palmer and Alto
Fast fit by Sandra Betzina
Make your own patterns by Adele Margolis
Pattern Fitting with Confidence by Nancy Zieman

How many magazines (assorted Burda, La mia Boutique, Modellina) would be appropriate or would you like to trade for either of these books?

Anyone interested?

Little rant

In short:

1. Got back from 1 (rainy) + 1 (partially cloudy) weeks of vacation (mostly working) :-(
2. Caught a cold :-(
3. The computer died - again, and it was impossible to resuscitate it :-(

Sigh, I think I need a few days of rest in the sun...

So, please, forgive my absence! I truly hope you are having a summery summer and that all is well wherever you are.

On the bright side - there are new shoes and fabrics, and plans for autumn sewing!

Will be back in a minute.
Ciao!

Outfit of the day

Yesterday:

Top: me-made
Jacket: thrifted
Jeans: Levis
Shoes: me-refashioned
Bag: birthday gift

So, you see I advanced technologically. Got to love the tripod and remote! :-D
Still have to learn how to use them properly. And practice with the camera.
(Hire a makeup artist and light technicians...)

I had some fun taking different pics:

Of course... The jump!

Heeeee :-))))
