Sew and slash

Making faux chenille has become my favorite way of upcycling fabric scraps. I just love it. The experimenting, the combinations, the possibilities. It is so exciting to wash the new fabric to see how the pieces will all blend together. Love love love.



This particular piece is rather large. I think I'm going to turn it into a skirt. Yay! An actual goal finally!

Usually, though, I turn faux chenille into unique handbags and purses, like hose underneath.

Preparations

I wanted to show you the sketches that preceded the runway outfits. Of course, I did it all myself, from sketch to pattern making to sewing.
